Members are appointed by the governor and the majority of members must be representatives of individuals with disabilities. Each member is unique. Some of the things they have in common are the:

Organizational Structure

Executive Committee

  • Conducts Council business in collaboration with the full Council
  • Reviews By-Laws every five years or as needed
  • Promotes and maintains VR/Council relations

Evaluation /Planning Committee

  • Reviews and advises on State Plan
  • Develops feedback for customer satisfaction survey
  • Reviews and advises on draft VR policy changes
  • Develops feedback to the Comprehensive Statewide Needs Assessment
  • Maintains FRC Accountability Checklist

Legislative/Public Awareness Committee

  • Oversees and provides input on development of Annual Report
  • Coordinates legislative education and advocacy efforts
  • Organizes and promotes public outreach efforts including those with federally mandated partners
