What We Do

The Florida Rehabilitation Council (FRC) works with the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) in planning and developing statewide rehabilitation programs and services and promotes high standards and expectations for every area of service delivery. The council does this by recommending best practices in policies and process using data driven recommendations and by sharing each council member's unique perspective from the constituency they represent.

Becki Forsell Honored with Stephen R. Wise Advocacy Award

The Florida Rehabilitation Council (FRC) created the Stephen R. Wise Advocacy Award to recognize a dedicated Florida leader and champion who promotes independence through work and community activities for individuals with disabilities. The FRC selected Becki Forsell as the 2019 Stephen R. Wise Advocacy Award winner. The FRC considered many outstanding nominees for this year's award and voted on April 17, 2019, to present this award posthumously in memory of Becki Forsell to recognize her leadership and personal commitment over many years to create and promote meaningful employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities. Becki exemplified the VR mission to help people with disabilities find and maintain employment, and enhance their independence. Becki also raised the awareness of many politicians, community representatives and people from all walks of life on a wide range of issues including the white cane laws, Transportation Disadvantaged and the need for access and inclusion. The FRC is proud to posthumously recognize Becki Forsell with the Stephen R. Wise Advocacy Award.
